"My kid has been enjoying Synthesis..."
My kid has been enjoying Synthesis, and from what I’ve seen, the class size feels reasonable, not too packed or chaotic. I’m always a little cautious with online classes because I want to make sure my kid actually gets a chance to participate, and sometimes I do wish there was a bit more time for each student to speak. But overall, it’s been a positive experience and we’re happy with it so far.
"Great When It Stays Connected"
When it works, I really like it and it does what I need. But in my experience, it drops connection a lot, which gets frustrating after a while. I’ll be using it and everything seems fine, then suddenly it cuts out. If that issue were fixed, I’d be much happier with it.

"Scheduling classes has been surprisingly easy"
One thing I’ve really appreciated about synthesis is how easy it is to schedule classes. My kid has school, homework, sports, and all the random things that pop up during the week, so I was kind of expecting the scheduling part to be a hassle. But it’s been really straightforward. We can pick times that actually fit our week instead of trying to force everything around one set schedule. And when we’ve needed to move a class, it hasn’t turned into a whole complicated process or something I have to stress about. It’s a small thing, but it makes a big difference because it means we’re much more likely to keep up with it consistently week after week.

"There were definitely things I liked about Synthesis..."
There were definitely things I liked about Synthesis, and I can see why some families enjoy it. But for us, the community side didn’t feel as welcoming as I’d hoped. It was a little cliquey, and as a newer parent, it felt hard to find a natural way in.
Some parents were kind and helpful, but others gave off the impression that you should already know how everything works. For a program at this price point, I expected more warmth and openness. Especially when something is built around kids learning and growing, I think the adults should model a more inclusive culture too...

"Felt Like I Was Fighting for My Life"
The challenge level was way too much for me. I expected a little difficulty, but this felt like the game threw me into the final boss battle with no warning. It got frustrating fast instead of feeling fun

"Cool at times, but not always a hit"
Synthesis has some good stuff. My son gets into the games at first. Especially the team parts. He likes that. But after a while, he kind of checks out. Sometimes says it’s confusing. I think it really depends on the group he’s with that day. Overall, not bad. Just doesn’t always keep him as interested as I thought it would

"My kid actually talks about the class"
We’ve been doing synthesis for a few months now with my 10-year-old, and it’s been a nice surprise. He’s not usually excited about online classes, but after these sessions he’ll actually tell me what happened, which doesn’t happen very often. The parent emails and reminders are useful too without feeling like too much.
I’m giving it 4 stars because the schedule can be a little tricky with our timezone, and I sometimes wish there was a bit more detail about what they worked on in class. That said, it’s been a positive experience overall, and I’m glad we tried it

"My first reaction was that some of…"
My first reaction was that some of it felt surprisingly personal, which I liked. But as I went through it, I kept thinking, “Okay, but how is this actually helping me?” It had good moments, just not everything felt useful.

"A refreshing change from regular schoolwork"
My kid has been using synthesis for a few months now, i’ve been impressed. The curriculum feels solid, and I like that the lessons actually get them thinking instead of just memorizing answers. Isn’t that kind of the point of learning anyway? A few sections did move a bit fast, so we had to go back and repeat things here and there, but that wasn’t a huge deal. Overall, it feels well made, thoughtful, and definitely different from typical schoolwork. I’d give it 4 stars.

"Good lessons, but the progress updates need more detail"
The lessons have been good overall, and my kid seems to enjoy them. I just feel like the progress reports are a little too basic. I mean, they’re helpful, but I’d really like to see more detailed updates so parents can better understand what’s improving and what still needs work.

"Kind of regret signing up"
The lessons themselves are fine, I guess, but I’m starting to regret paying for it. The moderation feels weak, and I kept seeing weird replies that made the whole experience feel off. I tried reporting a few things, but it didn’t really seem like anything happened. I expected it to feel a lot more managed than this.

"Good overall, but the speed feels unnecessary"
I’ve been enjoying the sessions overall, but they move a little too fast for me. Sometimes it feels like we’re rushing through things that could use a bit more time, and that pace feels kind of unnecessary when the material is actually helpful.

"Not really helpful"
I didn’t feel like I learned much from it. There was just something about it that didn’t really click for me, and I came away feeling like I hadn’t gained anything new

"Just the Right Fit for My Kid"
I felt like this was a really fair match for my kid’s age and ability level. It wasn’t too easy or too advanced, which I appreciated because kids should be challenged without feeling overwhelmed. Overall, it seemed like the right level and a good fit for where my child is right now.

"Pretty fair on time"
It doesn’t take much time at all. It’s easy to fit in after school and still have room for other stuff, which feels fair because it doesn’t take over the whole day.

"I got stuck while trying to…"
I got stuck while trying to set it up, it was frustrating, really frustrating. I reached out to support hoping they’d walk me through it, but they barely helped at all. Not the best experience

"Expected more critical thinking practice..."
I was hoping there would be a lot more focus on critical thinking exercises!!! The material was okay, but I kept expecting more chances to really analyze, question, and work through problems in a deeper way... It felt a bit lighter than I wanted?? Not bad, just not quite what I was looking for.

"I was actually relieved at first…"
I was actually relieved at first because getting around the site wasn’t too hard. The main things were easy to find, and setting everything up didn’t leave me confused, which I appreciated. But then I’d hit certain parts that felt a bit clunky, and that got a little annoying. A few buttons weren’t super clear, so I had to pause and figure out what they were supposed to do, and some pages loaded slower than I expected. Overall, it works fine and I wasn’t totally unhappy with it, but it’s just not as smooth as I hoped. I’d say 3 stars for ease of use...

"I’m not sure the peer collaboration really worked for me"
I wanted to like the peer collaboration part, but it felt a little awkward and not that helpful. Maybe I just didn’t use it the right way, but most of the interactions felt kind of forced and I didn’t get much out of them.

"Math finally clicked for me"
I’ve always struggled with math, but this made it feel way less overwhelming. The explanations were clear, and even the little step-by-step details helped things finally make sense. I actually felt like I understood what I was doing instead of just guessing.
